Nossyblue is a BOI (Board of Investment) RES (Real Estate Scheme) program that allows foreign nationals to own property in Mauritius. As such, the owners can obtain the status of Permanent Resident and thus benefit from a Residence Permit (subject to acceptance by the BOI) as long as they hold their villa.

By staying 183 days a year (6 months + 1 day) in Mauritius, owners can also benefit from tax residence and enjoy all the benefits of Mauritian taxation:
  • A single tax bracket of 15% on income, including rental income,
  • A double taxation treaty between France and Mauritius: income from Mauritian sources is not taxable in France,
  • A property located in Mauritius is excluded from the calculation of the assets of a French tax resident and is not subject to the ISF in France
  • No taxes on the capital gain if the property is resold,
  • No taxation of this capital gain in France, neither CSG nor CRDS in the event of repatriation to France or local reinvestment
  • No tax on dividends,
  • No inheritance tax in Mauritius
  • No property tax or housing tax.
